After a week of uncertainty, Michigan State hired Mel Tucker seemingly as suddenly as Mark Dantonio retired from the position. Tucker, who spent the last year coaching the Colorado Buffaloes, showed up in East Lansing Wednesday. He talked to media about returning to the campus where he began his coaching career as a graduate assistant in 1997. Dantonio issued a press release regarding his successor. "Mel is charismatic, brings good energy and is a forward thinker," the release read.
