Arrest in cold case doesn't end mystery of 13-year-old's murder 
 
On this day in 1973, Jan Rohrer disappeared on her way to school. She was 13 years old. The Bay City girl's remains were found a few days shy of a year later. Investigators couldn't piece together what happened. Her case eventually went cold. Then, in January 2017, came a breakthrough. Then came an interview with a former neighbor that never had been interviewed regarding the case. Then came an arrest in April 2018. But that's where the case has bogged down. No charges have been filed. And, now, that former neighbor is saying he lied to police and did not kill the girl.
