Since the coronavirus pandemic hit Michigan on March 10 and a state of emergency was issued, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has signed nearly 70 executive orders. Some of the orders have received more attention than others. For example, the stay-at-home order is a hot topic with Michiganders, including protestors who have taken to the Michigan Capitol twice in opposition to its parameters. Other orders deal with businesses, health care and price-gouging, just to mention a few of the dozens of orders. Michigan buys back $3.3M in liquor from bars, restaurants

Michigan's liquor buyback program has resulted in the state purchasing $3.3 million in spirits from bars and restaurants. The program was started as a way to financially help businesses struggling during the coronavirus pandemic. Bars have been temporarily shut down and restaurants can't provide dine-in services. The businesses have 90 days from the end of the state of emergency to buy the spirits back from the state. MORE
