In today's newsletter, nearly half a billion dollars going to rebrand 'racist' mascots and increase cultural awareness in schools, answers to election questions and tips from Michigan's SOS, and Short's Brewing warning to jerk customers: 'If you can't be kind, we can't help you'. |
I didn't win the billion dollar jackpot, and neither did you. |
Sometimes, the truth hurts, but we can't win them all. The third largest lottery jackpot in U.S. History was won Friday night as one jackpot-winning ticket was sold in Illinois for the $1.28 billion Mega Millions drawing. Along with the one grand prize winner, 26 tickets sold won at least $1 million, including the one purchased in Michigan.

Making changes:Six Michigan schools districts and colleges across the state are rebranding racially insensitive mascots and improving school curriculum related to the state’s 12 federally recognized Native American tribes.
NAHF Chairperson Jamie Stuck says: “If we fund the decommissioning of racist mascot imagery now, we will have more money in the future for proactive program and curriculum programming."
