Portion of extinct Prehistoric Forest amusement park in Irish Hills deemed dangerous
Dinosaurs went extinct about 65 millions years ago. The attractions at a long-defunct amusement park in the Irish Hills outside Jackson are about to follow suit. The Prehistoric Forest has been closed since 2002. It opened to much fanfare in 1963 as a roadside attraction. Visitors drove through a giant, man-made mountain before approaching 35 life-sized fiberglass dinosaurs. Cambridge Township officials have deemed the mountain is dangerous and must be torn down. MORE
