Opening Day 2018 is here, but will rain stay away?
The Detroit Tigers are scheduled to embark on the 2018 campaign today at Comerica Park with a new coach, a handful of new players and markedly lowered expectations. Signs point to a long summer in the D after management cut payroll and embraced rebuild mode. But none of that matters today, as there's nothing quite like an Opening Day. We expect a festive buzz today in downtown Detroit and a sellout crowd in the stadium, despite chilly temperatures and a threat of rain. MLive will be on scene with extended coverage of all the fun. Was this done in poor taste and/or an attack on a sweet 98-year-old nun who is the face of the Loyola-Chicago's men's basketball team - Michigan's Final Four opponent Saturday? Or was this good-natured fun? The comments section of this post is a mixed bag. MORE
