Detroit Lions head coach Matt Patricia was hired, in part, because of his keen understanding of defense. But just three months into the job, the franchise is coming to the defense of its new coach. A Detroit News investigation uncovered a sexual assault allegation made against Patricia during a spring break trip 22 years ago. A Texas grand jury indicted the then 21-year-old Patricia and a friend, but the case never went to trial after the alleged victim chose not to show. Most curious is how the Lions, Patricia's former team, the New England Patriots, nor the NFL knew about these allegations. MORE

Tearful witness believes she saw Jessica Heeringa's kidnapping

One of Jessica Heeringa's former co-workers took the stand Thursday in Jeffrey Willis' murder trial. Susan Follett was the first witness of the prosecution, and she welled up as she described what she now believes to be Heeringa's kidnapping. Microsoft moves into new digs in downtown Detroit

Microsoft celebrated the move of its regional hub from suburban Southfield to downtown Detroit on Thursday with a ribbon cutting ceremony. About 450 employees were relocated to the gleaming office space at 1 Campus Martius that will double as a collaboration center with other companies. MORE

MLive chief meteorologist Mark Torregrossa is predicting a mixed bag - as far as the weather is concerned - for this weekend.
