Rally organizers call for resignations of MSU trustees, interim president
Michigan State University trustees and interim president John Engler were the main targets of a rally organized by a group called Reclaim MSU. Students, community members and staff and faculty gathered outside the John A. Hannah Administration Building in a show of solidarity with Larry Nassar victims and to call out the actions of university leadership throughout the handling of the sex abuse scandal. The rally came at the end of another bad week for MSU leaders. Most notably, it was revealed last week that a top Engler aide accused a Nassar victim of making "false and inaccurate" statements in regards to an alleged offer of a settlement. The aide has since apologized. MORE

Driver escapes fiery crash as auto racing season kicks off

We've heard of starting off your season with a bang. But starting off your season with an inferno is a bit extreme. Thanks to a photo courtesy of William Burke, we all get to see the scary way one driver opened his year, as Berlin Raceway kicked off the 2018 auto racing season with its 7th annual Ice Breaker. Thankfully, and somewhat miraculously, the driver escaped without serious injury. Maybe the Grand Rapids area track will consider changing the name of next year's opener to the Ice Melter. MORE

35 summer 2018 movies, ranked from least to most anticipated

Apparently, the summer movie blockbuster season is upon us. It is April, and the snow just melted. Heck, the snow remains in full flower in parts north. But MLive movie critic John Serba assures us - and blames Disney/Marvel in the process - that, yes, the popcorn blockbusters are here. We might as well get ready for 'em! (Also, if you know Serba like we know Serba, it isn't too hard to guess what his No. 1 anticipated movie of the summer is.) MORE
