Remembering John McCain's life and legacy in 15 photographs
Arizona Senator John McCain died Saturday after a year-long battle with cancer. McCain's story is common knowledge by now, but it bears repeating: He was a former Vietnam prisoner of war who turned to politics and had an impactful 35-year political career. He was elected to the Senate six times and had a pair of unsuccessful runs for the presidency. Fellow Republicans and rival Democrats mourned his death over the weekend. Alan Trammell honored, takes place among Tigers legends

The Detroit Tigers certainly are adept at coming up with reasons for us to care about the Boys of Summer during this somewhat lost summer for this year's boys. (Yeah, they lost again Sunday, dropping three of four over the weekend to the hated White Sox.) Sunday, it was Alan Trammell's turn to take the stage once again, as the newly enshrined Hall of Famer took his place among the franchises' best. The Tigers formally retired Trammell's No. 3 jersey in a pre-game ceremony at Comerica Park. MORE

Autumn is just around the corner. So we thought it more than appropriate to dust off this list we put together a couple of years ago of 12 of Michigan's most dazzling fall color drives. Driving these magnificent roadways during the fall never gets old. So many colors. So much beauty. Just thinking about these drives has us thinking fondly of apple orchards, cider mills, and weekend drives in the countryside. Just one of the many reasons why we love living here. MORE
