Michigan Republicans converged on Mackinac Island over the weekend, hearing speeches from a handful of state and national leaders. Among the highlights, Vice President Mike Pence touted President Donald Trump. Betsy DeVos said the country is close to "making education great again." Vaping pervasive among Michigan high schoolers

A 2017-18 survey of nearly 130,000 Michigan teenagers provided some disturbing results regarding vaping. Among them was this: Nearly a third of Michigan 11th graders have used e-cigarettes in the past month. The survey also found usage is highest among teens in rural areas, Up North and the Thumb Area. MORE

Ann Arbor joined communities from around the globe Friday and participated in the Global Climate Strike. It was perhaps the largest climate rally ever. Students were encouraged to lead the way, and Ann Arbor schools allowed excused absences with parental permission. We were there and documented some of the more creative signs on display. MORE
