Jack Loeks started his entertainment empire in 1944 with a downtown Grand Rapids movie theater that showed news dispatches from World War II. Now, 75 years later, his grandson, J.D. Loeks, celebrated the family's return to downtown GR with the opening of Studio Park. The $180 million development includes apartments, restaurants, retail, a hotel, a covered parking garage and, of course, a nine-screen theater.
