Company blames 'extraordinary' circumstances for Straits of Mackinac oil leak 
An unknown quantity of hazardous petrochemicals have leaked into Lake Michigan from a pair of underwater electrical transmission cables spanning the Straits of Mackinac. American Transmission Company CEO Mark Davis pointed to 'an extraordinary set of circumstances' which led to the leak and the subsequent shutdown of the cables. Weather hazards have hampered inspection and remediation efforts. The U.S. Coast Guard said the fluid still could be leaking into the water. MORE

Toyota lands four vehicles in top 10 in longevity tests
 
A recent study revealed that if you want your next car to last, you might consider picking a Toyota. That or choosing from a list of seven SUVs that made this top 10 list of vehicles most likely to reach 200,000 miles. Chevrolet and GMC each scored two spots on the list.
