2019 Miss Michigan competition kicks off   Candidates for the 2019 Miss Michigan took the Frauenthal Center stage on Thursday night for the first time. The first preliminary award winners were Miss Bay County Simone Vaughn and Miss Sunrise Side Caitlin Borke. This is the 69th annual rendition of the revamped competition. Miss Michigan Outstanding Teen was crowned Wednesday night in Muskegon. Michigan and its uphill battle to the College World Series hat  This weekend, Michigan is making its first appearance in the College World Series since 1984. They almost didn't even qualify for the tournament.
