October 29, 2021 When Michigan and Michigan State play football, it always feels different, it always feels emotional. Fans have memories of this game that tower over championships and skew the facts. Clocks. No interference. The Clusterpunt. Stakes. Little brothers. Little sisters. It'll-never-be-overs. Pride comes before the fall. An inferiority complex vs the Harvard of the Midwest. Jim Harbaugh desperate to win Michigan's first Big Ten title in 17 years. Take every fiber of that, put it in the fire, and douse it with two Top 10 rankings and undefeated records for the first time in this rivalry since 1964. Saturday's game in East Lansing is more flammable than a couch. Buckle up. EVERY STORY YOU COULD EVER WANT Neither fan base was predicting championships back in August. So while this game is always a draw for fans, the demand for tickets grew subtly each week as both teams kept winning. A couple weeks ago the chatter got louder and by this week, people were spending major cash for a chance to be in the stadium. It's gotten so crazy, scams and fraud popped up. READ MORE For the first time ever, FOX's flagship college football show (Big Noon Pregame Show) and ESPN's College Gameday will be at the same place. These are rival national programs, but there was just no other place to be. It will be College GameDay’s first trip to East Lansing since Michigan State’s win against Oregon on Sept. 12, 2015. Meanwhile, FOX, who is airing the game, has been pumping it during the World Series all week. Everybody is going to pouring in to town on Saturday ready to eat, drink and get rowdy.
