Dry heat is continuing across Michigan, and in one area the lack of rain has led to a drought. Moderate drought is covering the northern Thumb and Iosco County, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. Additionally, an expanded area within the northern Lower Peninsula and the eastern Upper Peninsula are now categorized as "abnormally dry." That means those areas are days away from drought status, if they don't get proper rain. But good news might be coming this way.
