Men make more money than women in Michigan for every type of occupation studied by the U.S. Census Bureau in its 2019 American Community Survey data. Overall, the median, full-time male worker in Michigan made $53,435 in 2019. Full-time female workers had median earnings of $41,560 – which is 77.8% of men’s earnings. The U.S. average is slightly tighter, with women making 81% as much as men. Wyoming has the largest gender pay gap, with men making $21,000 more than women. Utah, Washington, D.C. and Louisiana have the next largest pay gaps.
