Students across the state and nation took center stage again Saturday in leading March for Our Lives events to advocate for school safety and gun control. An estimated 4,000 people filled Rosa Parks Circle in downtown Grand Rapids. Emily Masternak, one of the six student organizers of the GR protest, was in awe of the turnout. "When we got here and actually saw the crowd, we thought, 'We did this,'" she said. At least 4,000 turned out for a rally in Ann Arbor. Events in Kalamazoo and Saginaw drew hundreds of participants, as well. "I am fed up with grief. I am tired of giving thoughts and prayers and hoping it stops," said Ashley Dunn, a Howell High School student, who attended the Ann Arbor rally. ► We brought NRA supporters and gun control advocates together.
