 Michigan Realtors can’t believe what they’re experiencing with the home buying process right now. It’s an unprecedented seller’s market -- very low inventory and historic low mortgage interest rates have created what can only be called a brutal home-buying perfect storm. According to Realcomp, Michigan is down to a one-month supply of housing inventory, down 61% from a year ago. And the average number of showings per home has climbed to its highest level in 16 years at 19.5. The median sale price is also up 13.5% from a year ago, from $185,000 to $210,000. That’s the highest it has been for the month in 18 years. Simply put: As soon as you see your dream home listed, whoosh, it's gone. Last week marked the first time available appointments were going unfilled, raising concerns from local health officials that progress toward herd immunity could be slowing down. “That is an enormous concern we have right now,” said Adam London, health officer for Kent County. “We’re seeing both vaccine hesitancy and just a general lack of urgency from some people who are willing to get vaccinated. It’s just not as urgent a matter as the group we were serving the past few months.” MORE
 High school teams across Michigan may want to take another look at their final W-L record today. Their season tally may have changed overnight. In a first-of-its-kind decision, the Michigan High School Athletic Association wiped each postseason game that was forfeited due to a coronavirus quarantine off the ledger. It no longer counts as a win for the team that moved on. It no longer counts as a loss for the team that bowed out.  Over the course of two weeks in April, 32 of 40 women who work or have worked in Michigan’s political arena told MLive they had experienced sexual harassment during their careers. Only seven chose to formally report the harassment. Many respondents who did not file an official complaint cited concerns about career repercussions or a lack of faith that reporting would address the issue as factors in their decision. But 93% of respondents said they informally relayed concerns about another person’s conduct to friends or colleagues. Please watch this video to hear their voices.
