The Democratic presidential debates in Detroit are fast approaching. The two-night, 20-candidate event is July 30-31 at Fox Theatre in downtown Motown. Ahead of next week's national spotlight, we reached out to Michigan Democrats to get the pulse of what they are looking for in a candidate and what issues they deem most important. Former Michigan State University President Lou Anna Simon's preliminary hearing for allegedly lying to police officers during the Larry Nassar investigation began in February. Courtroom testimony finally concluded this week and closing arguments were delivered.
