 The number of vehicles without license plates on Michigan roads are conspicuously multiplying. That’s because new owners say they're waiting months to get one. Motorists are “desperate” for better service from Secretary of State branches amid ongoing backlogs that have forced motorists to drive illegally as they wait months for an appointment, said state Rep. Pat Outman, R-Six Lakes, who chairs the House Oversight Committee. Outman himself purchased a vehicle in March and in April began trying to schedule an appointment to buy a new plate. The soonest he could secure one was four months away. READ MORE ►Secretary of state branches to stick with appointments, end number taking  Use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine was put on pause across the country for 11 days in mid-April after the CDC became aware of six cases of a severe blood clotting condition in women who received the shot. The adverse reactions were out of more than 6.8 million recipients, but regulators said they paused its use “out of an abundance of caution.” In the four weeks since federal regulators and health experts gave the green light to resume use of the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine across the country, Michigan has administered more than 42,000 doses. Here's why it's still the vaccine of choice for many people: READ  The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is holding an online auction for 10 surplus properties, including waterfront lots on Lake Superior, Torch Lake, and the Ford River. According to the DNR, the 10 lots were deemed better suited for private ownership and are currently being prepared for sale via online auctions open now through mid-June. The late Paul Bard, a former three-sport standout at Muskegon High School in the 1940s, brought baseball to the Mona Shores district as coach of the Maple Grove junior high team in the mid-’50s, before Mona Shores High School was founded in 1962. Grandson Brandon Bard is Mona Shores’ sixth-year head varsity baseball coach. Grandson Andrew Bard assists his brother.
