February 17, 2022 As the storm reaches Michigan, there are a few things to be aware of. First, it’s becoming really apparent it’s a two-part storm, with the second part being later and the most significant part. The accumulation of snow will almost stop in the middle of the day, and you may think the snowstorm isn’t happening. The snow will come back into the southeast populated part of Michigan late afternoon and drop most of the snow in the evening. This also means there may be not-so-dangerous roads to drive on this morning and early afternoon. The road conditions won’t be great, but they may also not be terrible. That situation will change quickly when the second wave of snow starts late afternoon. READ MORE Michigan is altering its indoor mask guidance, including in K-12 schools, to reflect the improving COVID-19 picture throughout the state. On Wednesday, Feb. 16, the state health department announced a withdrawal of its public health advisory on masking in indoor public settings, which was put in place in November. The advisory recommended all people wear a face mask indoors in public settings, regardless of vaccination status. In expiring the advisory, state officials are leaning on individuals, families and communities to assess their own risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission, and to wear masks “when it makes sense.” READ MORE Michigan residents drink more beer than all other types of alcohol combined – but beer is on the decline in recent decades, according to data from the Michigan Liquor Control Commission. Before he became an NFL wide receiver on the rise, he had a goal to make it to the pros while also helping provide for his family. Osborn accomplished those goals after being drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2020 NFL draft, and with those accomplishments complete, he has now turned his sights on another goal – giving back to his hometown. The models all dress up as important Black figures in American history, like Mae Jemison, Rosa Parks, Malcolm X, Bessie Coleman, George Washington Carver and Harriet Tubman.
