Piece of automotive history crashes onto Detroit boulevard   The historic Packard Plant pedestrian bridge tumbled to the ground Wednesday. The bridge that once spanned East Grand Boulevard in Detroit is now in the roadway it once helped automotive workers avoid. The Albert Kahn-designed plant was constructed in 1903. Wounded officer and man thought responsible remain hospitalized   When a Saginaw Township police officer approached a vehicle driving without its headlights early Tuesday morning, he had little warning the parole-absconding driver behind the wheel was about to open fire on him.
