Weather to start March looks unreal for Michigan, Great Lakes region |
Heating back up: The start of March won’t be anything like what we are used to in weather. Another record warm day for almost every location early next week is on the way. The warmth peaks around Monday to what should be a day with most Michigan cities setting new record high temperatures. Weekend forecast: This weekend will be warmer and warmer as it progresses. Sunday will catapult us all into full-blown spring fever. There won’t be any precipitation this weekend other than maybe a brief sprinkle over southeast Lower Michigan. In the great outdoors: A fascinating night-sky phenomenon could be visible in our dark skies this spring: an eerie celestial glow known as “zodiacal light.” |

History in the making: Paw Paw to send first female wrestler to state finals |
That's a first: When Angel Miller toes the line at Ford Field this weekend, she’ll forever be cemented in Red Wolves wrestling history as the first female grappler to compete at Michigan’s high school wrestling state finals. Speaking of wrestling: Here's a list of all of the Jackson-area wrestlers who will be on the mats at Ford Field this weekend for the individual wrestling state finals. Home team: Southfield native and former Missouri pass rusher Darius Robinson just might be the fastest-rising prospect in the entire NFL draft. He’s a candidate for the Lions at No. 29 -- if he makes it that far -- and met with his hometown team at the NFL Scouting Combine, saying his "heart was bumping" during the encounter. |
