These 25 Michigan bars had the highest liquor sales in 2022. |
OK, they aren't all exactly bars: The Michigan bar with the most liquor sales in 2022 isn’t a place thought of for its alcohol. But many Michiganders have visited it – or at least have seen it on TV. The 2022 liquor sales leader was Little Caesars Arena, and it was the only place in the state that topped $1 million in alcohol sales last year. All but one in the Detroit area: It makes sense that the Detroit area would have some of the top slots for bars with the highest liquor sales, considering the area has the largest share of the state's population. But would you have guessed 24 of the top 25 are in metro Detroit? See the full list here. Michigan is awarded nearly $55 million for public housing improvements. |
Funds for housing: The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development allocated to nearly 2,770 public housing authorities across the country last week, including here in Michigan. Funding will be used to make upgrades in public housing for families and individuals who are low income.
The money will be distributed across the state: Nearly 30,000 people in Michigan live in public housing with about half being residents who are elderly or disabled, according to the latest HUD data. The $54.7 million award was distributed to all 107 public housing authorities in Michigan.
