Whitmer hits back on Trump's economic message in State of the Union response
 
From her daughters' high school in East Lansing, Michigan, Governor Gretchen Whitmer went on national television to deliver the Democratic response to President Trump's 2020 State of the Union Address. Despite Trump's remarks that America is experiencing a "blue collar boom," Whitmer argued that the economy isn't working for working people. "It doesn't matter what the president says about the stock market," she said. "What matters is that millions of people struggle to get by, or don't have enough money at the end of the month after paying for transportation, student loans or prescription drugs." MORE
