What we know about Hurricane Ian |
Florida has declared a state of emergency as Hurricane Ian is on track to hit the west coast. Hurricane Ian tore into western Cuba yesterday as a major hurricane, with nothing to stop it from intensifying into a catastrophic Category 4 storm. It is expected to reach hurricane force by this morning.
Florida residents are preparing as it is forecasted to strengthen even more over warm Gulf of Mexico waters, reaching top winds of 140 mph (225 kmh) before making landfall again.

More police officers will be present on Michigan roads after Gov. Gretchen Whitmer gave the OK to three bipartisan bills which would increase funding for the state’s Secondary Road Patrol program.
The goals: The bills build on the MI Safe Communities program Whitmer launched last year which seeks to invest in local police, remove illegal guns from communities and expand opportunities in jobs, education and the justice system.

Mark says: Yes! It looks like we shook off the rain early this week. Friday and the weekend look great with dry weather, sunshine and temperatures in the low-70s.
What about frost? There is only one chance of frost this week. After Thursday morning, we will slowly start to warm up into the weekend. Maybe spend the weekend visiting some fall color?
