Michigan race car driver saved by girlfriend after going into cardiac arrest hat  When 21-year-old race car driver Ben Welch went into cardiac arrest late last week, he was lucky his girlfriend was nearby. A nursing student at Grand Valley State University, Emily Schoenborn immediately started to perform CPR.
