Supreme Court required to take up Michigan gerrymandering case
 
The U.S. Supreme Court is required to hear why Michigan Republicans dispute a recent ruling requiring redistricting of political districts in the state. That means the highest court in the land could uphold a lower court's ruling that districts must be redrawn before 2020, overturn it or send the case back for reconsideration. MORE

Michigan race car driver saved by girlfriend after going into cardiac arrest

When 21-year-old race car driver Ben Welch went into cardiac arrest late last week, he was lucky his girlfriend was nearby. A nursing student at Grand Valley State University, Emily Schoenborn immediately started to perform CPR. Welch's family is calling her a hero and medical professionals who treated the race car driver said Schoenborn saved his life.  MORE
