Who uses marijuana? Here are the numbers
There is a lot of talk going on about marijuana as Michigan voters prepare to decide whether or not to legalize the substance for recreational use. It raises the question, who is likely to take advantage of recreational marijuana, if it is legalized? While we can't see into the future and predict what's to come, we do have some data that might help with an educated guess. These are the numbers on who has used marijuana and who uses it on a regular basis. In a 2016 survey, 9 percent of Americans admitted to using marijuana within the last month. Younger American adults are most likely to have used it recently, while older Americans are more likely to have ever used it. And men are more likely to use marijuana than women. Want to see details or other stats? We have them. MORE

Mystery surrounds old Lake Michigan shipwreck

Near Frankfort, at the bottom of Lake Michigan, you can find the remains of a ship that met its demise 138 years ago. The wreck of the J. Hazard Hartzell sparked a mystery surrounding the death of a woman who was tied to the ship's mast at the time of the wreck. While rescuers could save seven men aboard the ship, no one could reach Lydia Dale and she died as the ship went down. A movie and a book have been inspired by the Hartzell and what has come to be known as the Big Blow -- the squall that led to the wreck. But what really happened to Lydia Dale? It remains a mystery today. MORE

Fall color season doesn't last forever in Michigan (unfortunately). MLive photographers across the state took the time to capture the beauty of autumn in the Great Lakes State while they could. Sure, it's annoying to rake all those leaves in your yard, but these photos will remind you why it is totally worth it. If you didn't get a chance to take a road trip or two this year to check out the foliage, this gorgeous gallery is the next best thing. MORE

MSU and Rocky:
A football love story
hat
"Rocky, Rocky, Rocky" was the chant heard Saturday after Rocky Lombardi made a very successful first career start for Michigan State as the Spartans took down the Purdue Boilermakers. The score was 23-13 when all was said and done in East Lansing and it was good for players and fans alike, who had just dealt with a loss to the University of Michigan at home. Most were busy talking about Lombardi after the win, whether it was praise coming from coach Mark Dantonio or inquiries about his name. One thing is clear, MSU loves Rocky. Well, for this week, at least. MORE
