September 16, 2021 Frustrated with what they call “science deniers,” a statewide coalition of parent groups is launching a petition calling on the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to require universal masking in schools. The Michigan Parent Alliance for Safe Schools hopes to collect thousands of signatures and convince state authorities to do what Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has lately been reluctant to do – supplant local control. But trends vary widely based on the job. While some categories of work are expected to decline in number of jobs, others are projected to see major growth. Michigan International Speedway will host a NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022, the track announced. NASCAR unveiled its entire 2022 Cup Series schedule on Wednesday, Sept. 15 – including a race inside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum the week before the Super Bowl. MIS had hosted two Cup races every year since 1974 until this season. It lost its second race because NASCAR added new tracks to diversify its schedule, so it cut races from existing tracks.
