 Frustrated with what they call “science deniers,” a statewide coalition of parent groups is launching a petition calling on the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to require universal masking in schools. The Michigan Parent Alliance for Safe Schools hopes to collect thousands of signatures and convince state authorities to do what Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has lately been reluctant to do – supplant local control. To protect vulnerable children, many of them ineligible for vaccines, they want to see everyone, regardless of immunization status, wear masks inside education buildings as is recommended by federal and state health agencies and the American Academy of Pediatrics. ►Tyranny and parental choice among arguments parents used in objecting to Kent County mask mandate  Michigan is only projected to have 0.1% more jobs in 2028 than it had in 2018 – about 3,000 added positions. But trends vary widely based on the job. While some categories of work are expected to decline in number of jobs, others are projected to see major growth.  NASCAR’s coming back to the Irish Hills of Michigan in 2022, although two weeks earlier in the summer. Michigan International Speedway will host a NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022, the track announced. NASCAR unveiled its entire 2022 Cup Series schedule on Wednesday, Sept. 15 – including a race inside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum the week before the Super Bowl. MIS had hosted two Cup races every year since 1974 until this season. It lost its second race because NASCAR added new tracks to diversify its schedule, so it cut races from existing tracks.
