Hunting is on the decline in Michigan - which is a problem

You don't have to come from a hunting family to know hunting is a big deal in Michigan. Heck, opening day of firearm hunting season (this year it is Nov. 15) is practically a holiday at some work places. Well, at least historically. Public Interest reporter Julie Mack's latest data dive looks at why hunting in Michigan (and nationally) is on the decline. This trend comes with numerous negative ramifications from wildlife management to economic impacts. MORE

Observations: Lions struggle without Stafford against lowly Bears
hat
Sunday's Detroit Lions game started with Matthew Stafford in street clothes. It ended with yet another new low. The Chicago Bears snapped a four-game losing streak. The Lions lost for the fifth time in their past six games. And the Motor City Kitties are all alone in the last place in the division. Ugh, yuck and ugh some more. (Thankfully, Kyle Meinke's post-game observations are more eloquent than that!)
