What we know about why the CDC recommends masks for vaccinated The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last week changed course on its mask guidance, saying even vaccinated people should wear masks indoors in parts of the country where there is substantial or high risk of COVID-19 transmission. On Friday, the CDC released in its morbidity and mortality weekly report findings based on a study of a Massachusetts COVID-19 outbreak that affected a large number of vaccinated people. This came after the Washington Post published an internal CDC slideshow that highlighted some startling information about the highly contagious Delta variant, which might be spread by vaccinated people, and how it is changing what the CDC called “the war.” READ MORE So is this just entrepreneurship? LISTEN HERE Don't worry, Michiganders, summer is definitely not over. A cool down had some summer lovers a little worried that the warm temps had disappeared early this year. But, according to MLive Chief Meteorologist Mark Torregrossa, the temps are on their way up. From Mark: "The weather pattern shows summer will return by Wednesday, and then Michigan could eventually get hot. This week’s temperatures will stair-step up a couple of degrees each day. The warming trend will continue into early next week. By early next week we may have some low-to-mid 90s over parts of Michigan." Gretchen Whitmer has spent the last year and a half building a national profile, something that’s reflected in her latest campaign finance filings. More than a third -- 38.6% -- of her donations came from out of Michigan in the latest campaign finance filing. She gained national prominence by moving early to stop the spread of COVID-19 in Michigan, and national observers put her permanently on the map when she was a contender for Vice President under President Joe Biden. That national prominence appears to have translated into national donations. READ Kayla Murdock’s 8-year-old daughter, Faith, knew she had to help when she heard about the three men who accidentally died at the 2021 Faster Horses Festival. Murdock, of Jackson, said Faith took her phone while she was asleep and made a post in a Facebook group about wanting to help. Her mother woke up to several likes and messages from people offering to help Faith do just that.
