Restaurants in Michigan are open for dine-in services, but not every type of dining is allowed. Self-service dining, like the buffet, is still against the rules under executive orders put into place during the coronavirus pandemic. On a national level, the Centers for Disease Control also recommends the avoidance of buffets, salad bars and drink stations. Some business owners are wondering if buffets will ever return in their previous form. At the very least, experts expect the buffet will need to be reimagined in the short-term as diners and business owners worry about food contamination and social distancing. MORE

Michigan voters can now request absentee ballots online
 
All registered Michigan voters already started receiving absentee ballot applications in the U.S. mail. Now, those who prefer virtual communication to snail mail can request an absentee ballot online. To request an absentee ballot at michigan.gov/vote, you must be a registered voter with a driver's license or state ID card and you must provide the last four digits of your social security number. Differences you'll notice at Michigan's state park campgrounds this year

Michigan state park campgrounds are getting a late start to the season this year, but they're almost ready to welcome visitors. Starting June 22, campsites, cabins and recreation areas are reopening across the state. Regular campers will notice some changes this season, though, like a request for everyone to wear masks in public spaces and increased sanitation efforts.
