Wolverines are Big Ten champs, ranked No. 2 in the country, taking on Georgia Dec. 31 It was a huge weekend for the Wolverines. They stomped Iowa 42-3 for the University of Michigan's first Big Ten championship since 2004. Then, the team found out they were ranked No. 2 in the country, meaning they will take on Georgia Dec. 31 in the College football Playoff semifinal. Michigan’s made three previous Orange Bowl appearances, including in 2016 under Harbaugh, a 33-32 loss to Florida State. But they are hoping for a different outcome this time. The Spartans on Sunday found out they are heading to the Peach Bowl to take on Pittsburgh. Oxford shooting marks Michigan's 15th 'mass killing' since 2006 Since 2006, Michigan has had 15 “mass murders” – defined as the killing of four or more people in a 24-hour period. This week’s Oxford High School shooting marks the first of the 15 to take place at a school, according to a database from the Associated Press, USA Today and Northeastern University. Ethan Crumbley, 15, is charged with killing four students and injuring seven others – including a teacher – in the Oxford High School shooting on Tuesday, Nov. 30. It’s Michigan’s first mass killing since August 2020, when Raymond Lee Bailey allegedly killed his former fiancée and three of her family members.
