| The LSU women's basketball team went on the road Monday night to take on Texas A&M. The Aggies were shorthanded, playing without leading scorer and point guard Endiya Rogers, putting the home team at a significant disadvantage. But it's the SEC and it's late February and there is little if any time for sentimentality. The Tigers took full advantage for an 81-58 victory to go to 22-4 and 9-3 in SEC play. "I felt very comfortable from start to finish of this game," LSU coach Kim Mulkey said afterward. LSU jumped out to a 36-14 halftime lead and never looked back. Even though the Aggies didn't have Rogers, it was an impressive defensive effort for the Tigers. Offensively Aneesah Morrow led the way with 25 points and 15 rebounds while Johnson had 20 points. Next is a rematch, one could say a revenge match, Thursday at the PMAC with the Auburn team that upset LSU 67-62 on Jan. 14. The LSU baseball team squeaked out a 4-3 win over Central Arkansas to complete its three-team, four-game season-opening series 4-0. The difference in this one? Yet another home run by first baseman Jared Jones, his third in the first four games. And we have the photos to prove it. Or at least the photos to provide strong circumstantial evidence. Back to women's hoops, where LSU star Angel Reese came to the defense of Iowa All-American Caitlin Clark after the latter broke the NCAA Division I women's scoring record and drew criticism from former Texas Tech greast Sheryl Swoopes. And you thought Reese and Clark were bitter rivals? Not the case, ring finger pointing or not. Finally, LSU softball is off to a strong start at 8-0 overall, including a 3-0 mark in the Clearwater Invitational in Florida. But the Tigers had a couple of games washed out, still leaving the team a bit unfulfilled. That's all for today, folks.
