The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has started the process of re-allocating spectrum in the 3.6 GHz band which will pave the way for the introduction of 5G mobile broadband services in Australia.

Rogue home appliances attacking their owners? It’s no longer in the realm of science fiction. Electronics manufacturer LG has patched a vulnerability in its SmartThinQ home appliances technology that enabled attackers to take over devices remotely.

Google's much-trumpeted Play Protect system, which is supposed to guard against malware in its Play store and on Android devices, has fared poorly in its first test.

American security firm McAfee has said it will no longer allow source code reviews by foreign governments, becoming the second US security firm to make such an announcement this month.

Listed Australian network interconnection company and data centre operator Megaport has increased revenues to $4.15 million for the first quarter of FY 2018, a lift of 19.6% from the last quarter.

Technology goods retailer MSY has been fined three-quarters of a million dollars by the Federal Court in a case filed by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission over its not properly informing consumers about their rights to warranties on faulty products.
