NATIONAL: Discover America’s Virtual Travel & Adventure Show is taking place virtually Dec. 9 and will feature top personalities, brands, destination representatives, and keynote speakers. The event gives guests the opportunity to meet with travel experts and gain insight on safe traveling for the holiday season and into 2021. The Beyond the Streets art festival took place virtually this past weekend to make up for a canceled Art Basel, which was originally scheduled to take place in June. The digital festival was streamed exclusively on NTWRK and sought to continue the efforts of preserving and expanding the culture of street art. LOS ANGELES: The Los Angeles Ballet is hosting a virtual event, dubbed Clara’s Nutcracker Tea Party, Dec. 20. The event will feature an afternoon of family-friendly, interactive activities, including dancing, festive music, and crafts. Ticket purchases include Clara’s Party Box, which will be delivered to guests to open during the event; proceeds from the event will support the Los Angeles Ballet and its mission. SAN DIEGO: The Park Hyatt Aviara in Carlsbad has announced a new partnership with celebrity chef Richard Blais, who will debut a signature restaurant in March 2021 as part of the resort’s recently completed $50 million transformation. The eatery will specialize in vintage steaks and fresh seafood. TAMPA: Visit Tampa Bay has launched the Hybrid Meeting Grant designed to help meeting planners offset unanticipated expenses associated with the pivot to hybrid and virtual events. Grant recipients must hold their event at a partner facility within Hillsborough county and are determined based on specific criteria including estimated economic impact and anticipated event attendance.
