Stock Gumshoe Daily Update

July 18, 2016

Greetings, Gumshoe readers!
Please click here for today's new article.

The Motley Fool has been hinting at a new pick from Tom Gardner, a stock that they say faced down Amazon and won, and one that is so compelling that they've re-recommended it three times in six months... so what is it that they're talking about?  Answers in today's new article here.

Or if that doesn't fill your shopping cart, just read on...

Kevin C. used to work at a gas station in Georgia... cleaning bugs off windshields and pumping gas.

Today, he's a retired millionaire.

No, he didn't win the lottery.

Click here to see how he did it. (Hint: He used a hand-held calculator.)

-------------------------

So what did we cover last week?  We started with Porter Stansberry, who had a compelling ad out last week for his service that outlined his preference for "Magic Stocks" that go up faster than the market and fall slower ... and, as luck would have it, he dropped some hints about the next "magic" stock he's found for his readers. Wanna know what it is?  So did I, so I sniffed around a bit and got a potential answer for you... details in my new article here.

We're getting more and more questions about virtual reality stocks, thanks to the Motley Fool's decision to jump on that bandwagon -- most newsletters have now put out big "how to win from virtual reality" teasers over the past nine months, the Fool's pitches four stocks that they believe are "poised to dominate," and we covered those in an article here.

If there's one way that newsletter pitchmen know to get attention, it's by using the name of a celebrity or a politician... and this time, it's both as the Oxford Club hints about the "mystery holding" in Donald Trump's portfolio -- and they think there's a "99% chance" you haven't heard of this secret stock.  I bet the chances are far different with the wise and well-informed crew here at Stock Gumshoe, but you can make your own call after we explain what they're really talking about.

As luck would have it, we've also got a new Doc Gumshoe piece that Michael Jorrin submitted last week about progress in antivirals... and not to give away too much of the surprise, but he does mention one of the companies that Oxford Club ad is teasing, so for once we were on the same topical page.  You can see Doc Gumshoe's new article here.

And I closed things out with a double dose of goodies for the Irregulars in a two-part Friday File -- part one was a look at First Mining Finance and some other gold stocks and REITs that have been churning higher... and part two was a teaser solution for you about Cabot's "Stock of the Next Decade" that also happens to be a big holding in my own portfolio.

P.S. Gumshoe readers have been extremely generous in supporting the fundraising ride I'll be embarking on in two and a half weeks (it's for a great cause) ... but we can do better!  I hope you'll consider sponsoring me with a donation today as I ride the Pan-Mass Challenge in memory of my father and try to make a difference. Thank you!
