As you are going in to the new year, both your sales tactics as well as your hiring tactics should be evolving. You can only get better when you are willing to evolve. One way a company evolves and changes is by adding new members to their team. But, it is not simply about adding new members to the team but the quality of those new members. Vetting a candidate is always where a manager should start.
Many companies tend to hire through an HR department that simply is not trained enough to make the proper decisions in hiring. The number one priority in the hiring process is to hire with as little bias as possible. It is always best to buy-in from every single person in the hiring process to ensure you are getting the least bias and truly selecting the best candidate.
There are few traits that you should be the most concerned with during the hiring process.
First and foremost, the most important part of a successful recruitment is, hiring the best candidate.
Building the right team
Now, like the saying goes, Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither is the perfect team.
You will have to go through several if not dozens of interviews before you find the perfect applicant.
If people are not wired to be sales wolves, they simply are not potential sales wolves.
Is your top recruit really the best?
Lastly, while going through your hiring process you should not just look at your candidates past success within their previous company but be willing to compare them to those outside of their own corporations.
Although it may seem long and tedious, the hiring process is the first step to a successful team.
