Rock rapids replace aging dams to let Minn. rivers flow
Minnesota has hundreds of dams — many more than a century old that are reaching the end of their useful lives. Efforts are underway to replace them with alternatives that reconnect lakes and rivers and allow fish to move upstream.
 
What else we're watching:
Northfield police continue search for 6 year-old girl Elle Ragin was determined missing after finding her mother, Lisa Wade, dead in an apartment on Saturday. That death is an apparent suicide, according to police. Investigators believe that before taking her own life, Wade, 39, may have had something to do with her daughter’s disappearance.

5 things we've learned so far from the Jan. 6 committee hearings The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection plans at least two more hearings this month. Here's what we have learned in the first six.

Police take a man into custody over the July 4th parade shooting near Chicago Six people were killed and dozens were injured in the shooting. Illinois Gov. J. B. Pritzker called for prayer in the wake of the "the evil unleashed this morning" but added that prayers alone would not address the problem of gun violence in the country.
