Putting the snow behind us

Interstate 10 is open statewide. Grocery stores and other retail shops are bustling again, and we managed to make it through 24 hours without seeing the thermometer dip below 32 degrees. Can our more familiar warm, ridiculously humid conditions be far behind?

The winter storm that dumped more than 7 inches of snow on Baton Rouge — the city's largest one-day snowfall in over a century — will soon just be a chilly memory. Life will fall back into its normal rhythm, especially when schools reopen their classrooms next week. And Mardi Gras is coming!
