Good afternoon! Tonight is expected to be partly cloudy with a chance of light rain early on. In the Twin Cities area highs are in the 80s, lows in the 70s. Next week still looks ripe for the biggest heat wave of summer. NOAA's Global Forecast System model suggests the potential for five days in a row near or above 90 degrees next week. Protests ended in arrests near Minneapolis today. Authorities reopened traffic on southbound I-35W Wednesday at about 9:15 a.m. after protesters lined up across the interstate near downtown to protest police shootings. The Minnesota State Patrol arrested 41 protesters after about an hour on the freeway. Troopers towed away four cars that had initially blocked traffic. More | Forecast
 

Obama at Dallas memorial: 'We're not as divided as we seem'

President Obama and former President George W. Bush spoke at an interfaith memorial service Tuesday afternoon for the five police officers murdered in Dallas last week. Obama acknowledged the pain of the racially charged shooting. "Faced with this violence we wonder if the divides of race in America can ever be bridged," he said.

NASA's Jupiter probe sends first pics of planet from orbit

Right now Juno is in an elongated orbit around Jupiter that takes it 53.5 days to make a single revolution. "JunoCam will continue to take images as we go around in this first orbit," said Candy Hansen, Juno co-investigator from the Planetary Science Institute, in a NASA news release. "The first high-resolution images of the planet will be taken on August 27 when Juno makes its next close pass to Jupiter."
