Elephant-strength opioid blamed for 5 more Minn. overdose deaths

The overdoses brought total carfentanil-related deaths to 10, Hennepin County authorities said Friday. New to the state, carfentanil is 10,000 times more potent than morphine and used as a tranquilizer for elephants and other large animals.
