| THEATER Page to Stage Unlimited: "Spirits Real and Imagined"

Staged readings of original, locally-written works offering a mix of comedy and drama. October's theme is "Spirits Real and Imagined" with four readings: Ron Hasson's "How We Are Rich," about the other half; Craig Kittner will read from his new book of poetry, "Time's Sweet Savor," musings on transitions and memory, and a haiku or two; Brad Field brings us "Beach Teeth" featuring a menacing pick up line; Joel Douglas Perry is offering "Everything Sucks . . . or Not" after a miracle spares Vic and Leo suffers a tragedy, they examine God and life.

Furst is currently a professor at, and is the former chair of, the Dept. of Art and Art History at UNCW.

1:30 PM Instruction for beginners 2:00 - 4:00 PM Entire Group Wilmington Sacred Harp Singers presents a traditional Sacred Harp Singing and invite you to join in the music and raise your voice in song! This dynamic form of a cappella social singing dates back to Colonial America, using a modern reprint of an 1844 songbook The Sacred Harp. The music is loud, vigorous and intense. He is currently an artist in residence at Penland School of Crafts, Penland NC where he was a Core Fellow from 2007-2009 and studied under Doug Beube while exploring a variety of materials and techniques, including the book as a form. Thursday, November 10, 7:00 PM Members & college students with college ID: $12.00 Non-Members:$18.00, UNCW Students free w/ ID The Pro Musica Concert Series--in its sixth season--celebrating the works of living composers will present guitarist Michael Nicolella recognized as one of America's most innovative classical guitarists. Classical Guitar magazine referred to him as "one of the contemporary guitar's most gifted stars". A uniquely eclectic and versatile artist, Nicolella blurs the lines between musical styles and disciplines. His program will include original compositions as well as music by Lennon/McCartney, Frank Zappa, Leo Brouwer, Philip Glass, Elliot Carter, Gyorgy Ligeti and Jacob ter Veldhuis.
