The sheer number of new restaurants in Dubai sometimes overwhelms me.

But as a Food Editor, I consider it my duty to hit up as many new spots as I can. Not everything is worth writing home about though... and only some really make an impression.

The team and I have been hard at work checking out every single newbie. From all the J1 Beach eateries to the new DIFC restaurants and (my personal favourites) all the Jumeirah 1, 2 and 3 spots.

Speaking of Jumeirah let me start with one of the most talked-about restaurants in the city right now... Manāo. Thai-inspired. Young executive chef. Mohamad Orfali as a partner. And an actually affordable tasting menu (Dhs450 for eleven courses). Check, check, check and check.

Then, there's Tacosita, my latest neighbourhood obsession. Created by financial analyst-turned-chef Salam El Baba (also of Dukkan El Baba), this teeny tiny taqueria serves up super affordable tacos priced at Dhs39 for three pieces. The birria, in particular, slaps every time.

Now... if you love Asian cuisine and fancy trying something a little more off the beaten track, then add Harummanis to your list. Chef Akmal Anuar really goes back to his roots with this Malay cuisine spot. A truly exciting and unique dining experience.

Moving to the upper end of the spectrum I am highly excited about MiMi Mei Fair because A) dim sum... all the dim sum. B) stunning space. C) a great reputation in its hometown of London. Perfect for a fancy night out.

As always... I could go on and on (because there are so many great new restaurants out there), but let's save some content for next week's edition.

What about you? Tell me what new restaurants you like. Where do you want to eat? What are you dying to sink your teeth into?

Until then… stay hydrated besties,

Yousra
