First, I’ll give myself some credit ;) Here’s a short list of all the bad things I’ve eliminated in my life: - Binge Drinking - Social Anxiety - Negative Thinking - Toxic Relationships - Scarcity Money Mindset Here’s a list of good habits I’ve added to my life - Exercise - Good nutrition - Consistent sleep - Regular work schedule - Learning high-income skills Now put those side by side... which column “weighs more”? The negatives. If I added high-income skills but didn’t give up binge drinking, I’d have lost at the game of life. If I exercised regularly but remained in toxic relationships, I’d be in a bad place today. “Team Bad” always destroys “Team Good” Now for the damaging admission... Today the #1 source of stress in my life is my phone. The problem is that my phone is like a slot machine or ATM... Almost every time I turn it on... it spits out money! A $250 course sale here... a $5,000 enrollment there... yesterday it was a $28,000 sale! BUT... When I overuse my phone… - Daisy barks at me - It keeps me up at night - People around me feel I'm not paying attention - It stops me from doing my NUI work in the morning The solution is 5th-grader obvious. Put the phone away. And so here’s how I’m going to do that: Step #1: Get public accountability from you via sharing this weakness in today’s email. Done! Step #2: Leave the phone out of my office until after NUI work in the AM. Step #3: Buy more physical books so I’m not tempted to read on my iphone Kindle app at night Step #4: Transfer all phone lists to paper for CostCo trips, gym visits, etc. Step #5: Carry a notepad with me to capture my ideas on paper – not phone. Over to you... Identify your killer bad habit.
Build a plan to remove it from your routine.
Then access the power of public accountability (from your peer group or coach). This will remove the biggest ball-and-chain from your life... And allow all of your good habits to manifest success. Success Loves Speed, Craig |
