Plan your day | Thursday 03 October
| Hi John, I am pleased to share where we have got to with this year’s Festival of Marketing, taking place on Thursday 3 October at The Brewery, London. There’s much more to be added but I hope you will agree, it’s already a strong programme. In challenging times, it’s good to be reminded that marketing can make a difference so the theme for this year’s Festival is “Power to Transform.” The purpose is to inspire by showcasing what's possible and enable by offering insight into how to do it. Not forgetting the need to challenge people to think differently. How will we do it? Here are my highlights to dateacross the 6 stages: Marketing-led growth stories will feature. For example, the rise and rise of Greggs and its building of mental and physical availability, as told by its top marketer,Hannah Squirrell. Elsewhere, McDonald's UK Marketing Director Matthew Reischauer and Josh Bullmore, Chief Strategy Officer at long term agency Leo Burnett, will unpick the marketing levers pulled in achieving an envious run of growth. Success by doing things differently is also covered with Lucky Saint Founder Luke Boase and its CMO Kerttu Inkeroinen on growing a category by increasing entry points and occasions. Tony's Chocolonley CEO Douglas Lamont and UK Marketing Lead Nicola Matthews will talk about building a very distinct and different brand. The crucial relationship between CEO and CMO will be explored throughout Festival - how to achieve it, and why it matters. Hear from two of the key architects of growth success stories of recent years, Octopus Energy CEO Greg Jackson and Chief Marketing and Product Officer Rebecca Dibb-Simkin. They'll provide the inside story of building a brand and business that has gone from challenger to market leader. On our B2B stage, Antonia Wade, Global Chief Marketing Officer, PwC, will offer her informed take on what the opportunities and challenges are in B2B, and how to unlock them. For those looking for inspiration on how to better transform the careers of you and your team, hear from Marketing Week's brilliant Helen Tupper and Scott Morrison, Founder of The Boom!. Elsewhere, Motorway CMO Naomi Walkland and HSBC's Ucheora Obi-Wheeler will discuss what skills and capabilities will be required of marketers now and in the near future. And for those looking to be challenged to think differently there is Marketing Week’s very own Mark Ritson, Helen Edwards, Peter Weinberg and Jon Lombardo on positioning, innovation and strategy. There will also be a special live recording of marketing’s biggest podcast The Uncensored CMO, where Jon Evans will interview the BBC’s Chief Customer Officer Kerris Bright. Festival of Marketing is a sell-out event, and passes are on a first-come, first-served basis. Secure your pass today to avoid disappointment. If you have any questions, please get in touch and a member of the team will be happy to help. I look forward to seeing you at Marketing Week’s Festival of Marketing this October! Best Wishes, Russell Parsons, Editor-in-Chief, Marketing Week |
