The latest issue of the NSC Newsletter has just been published

Hello from the NanoSafety Cluster!

We hope this email finds you safe and well.

The NanoSafety Cluster Newsletter - a bumper Issue #20 has now been published and is downloadable here and via the NSC LinkedIn group.

Thank you once again to everyone who has taken the time to contribute news and updates from your projects, initiatives and research, and helping to make the community aware of latest developments. Your continued support is very much appreciated.

Following a welcome and update from the NSC Coordination Team, this issue brings you news of NSC and Task Force developments, enhanced communications with the EC, and not-to-be-missed imminent events.

A new development is the creation of the NanoSafety Cluster NanoHub collection, where all projects can archive their nanosafety-related educational resources and search for more.

A large number of NSC projects have submitted updates, including two of the NMBP-13 Risk Governance projects. Meanwhile, among our new projects you can read about the four new Safety-by-Design initiatives that will closely collaborate on their strategies and will be represented by Andrew Nelson, as Chair of the NSC WG E – Innovation & Safer by Design.

A number of publications feature in this issue: note the call for papers for a Special Issue of Green Nanotechnology. Then, following announcements of jobs and partnership opportunities, our Events section will inform you about the latest arrangements in the move from live to online workshops and conferences.

As always, we hope you find articles of interest here and look forward to your next submissions. The next NSC Newsletter will be issued in November with a submission deadline set for October 31stYou can submit your news viathis formor viaemail.

About the NanoSafety Cluster

The EU NanoSafety Cluster (NSC) maximises the synergies between European-level projects addressing the safety of materials and technologies enabled by the use of nanoparticles. The studied aspects include toxicology, ecotoxicology, exposure assessment, mechanisms of interaction, risk assessment and standardisation.

The Cluster is an initiative of the European Commission Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD), which sponsors these large projects. Overall, Europe targets safe and sustainable nanomaterials and nanotechnology innovations. NSC projects contribute to assuring environmental health and safety (EHS) of this Key Enabling Technology.

The Cluster also is an open platform for dialogue and exchange. Researchers, regulators, administrators, industry, civil society representatives—if you have an interest in EHS and nanotechnology, you are very welcome to participate in NSC activities whether or not you are a partner in formal European projects.
