Microsoft is testing ads in Bing and Edge via artificial intelligence-powered chatbots, and plans to roll out formats tied to AI-generated search results, including paid links and contextual pop-ups. "Microsoft says that Bing chatbot ads will also be bigger and more prominent than regular search ads, which could provide more opportunity to reach users in the discovery phase," writes Social Media Today's Andrew Hutchinson.

Zoning laws in New York City suburbs limit housing density and affordability, writes Mara Gay in this opinion piece. "For much of the 20th century, towns surrounding New York City used a stomach-churning mix of racial covenants and restrictive zoning laws to shut out Black Americans and others considered undesirable from thriving suburbs," Gay writes.

The debate over whether the economy is heading for a hard or soft landing has grown to include another possibility, that of a "no landing" scenario, which Bianco Research President Jim Bianco describes as persistently elevated inflation that continues to drive interest rate increases. However, EY-Parthenon Chief Economist Gregory Daco says such a scenario "does not make any sense," as further rate increases would raise the odds of a hard landing.

The dismissal of a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau lawsuit alleging that Chicago-based Townstone Financial dissuaded prospective Black applicants from seeking mortgages "represents a significant win for the separation of powers," writes Pacific Legal Foundation attorney Jessica Thompson. "Whether an agency tries to rewrite the law through regulations or litigation, it subverts the rule of law and our Constitution," Thompson writes.
