NBN Co has abandoned plans to rollout the national broadband network on the Optus HFC network for which it paid $800 million. The broadband carrier will now use fibre-to-the-distribution point (FTTdp), to deploy the network for up to 700,000 premises and Internet Australia has applauded the move.
