My colleagues and I at the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) invite you to join us virtually for the upcoming open session of the 86th meeting for theNational Advisory Council on Complementary and Integrative Health (NACCIH),to be held onFriday, January 19, 2024.

The open session will belivestreamedfrom12:30 to 4 p.m. ET,and the recorded video will be made available several days later on theNIH VideoCast website. Registration is not necessary, and all are welcome to attend online.

  • NIH ADVANCE Initiative: Advancing Prevention Research for Health Equity
    Two New Funding Opportunities: Multi-Sectoral Preventive Interventions Research Network to Address Social Determinants of Health in Populations that Experience Health Disparities.
    The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Disease Prevention (ODP) and participating Institutes, Centers, and Offices are seeking applications for a new collaborative research network to test multi-sectoral preventive interventions for health conditions in populations that experience health disparities.
    PAR-24-053:The research network funding opportunity encourages UG3/UH3 research project applications that intervene beyond the individual level and collaborate with two or more service sectors (e.g., health, housing, transportation, education).
    RFA-OD-24-006: The research network will also include a coordinating center that will provide technical assistance related to intervention methodology and facilitate collaboration across projects. The coordinating center funding opportunity encourages U24 applications that propose activities in administration, methodology, and community engagement.

It will also include a presentation on review requirements from NCCIHs Office of Scientific Review.

Music as Medicine Workshop Videos Available

Did you miss the December 14-15, 2023 workshop, "Music as Medicine: The Science and Clinical Practice?" If so, videos from both days are available for viewing.

The workshop aimed to highlight accomplishments from the last 6 years in advancing scientific research on music and health, develop a blueprint for the next phase of research, and further build the research community. The workshop was co-chaired by Dr. Francis Collins, former NIH director, and Ms. Rene Fleming, the renowned soprano and arts and health advocate, both of whom delivered keynote speeches.
